Featured Therapist Gregg Buchanan

How did you become interested in being a massage therapist?
1.)  My interest in becoming a massage therapist was sparked when I received my first professional massage, when the therapist was finished; I knew I needed to learn the proper way to give a massage.

What was your first massage experience?
2.)  It was a massage for two, the person I was with was helping me through a stressful move and once the massage began, I was hooked.

How would you describe your style of massage?
3.)  My style of massage is basically a combination of different modalities and techniques concentrating on helping the client become as comfortable and relaxed as possible, and then addressing the specific soft tissue needs to be corrected.

When a perspective client comes to see you what can they expect?
4.)  Clients can expect a very thorough massage with a firm yet healing touch.  It is my goal to help my clients feel their best when they leave the office.

What is your favorite part of giving or receiving a massage?
5.)  My favorite parts of giving a massage is one, seeing the look on the clients face when the massage is complete, and two, knowing that the massage I have designed for that individual client has helped them feel better.

Gregg is a native of Chester County and loves the people and places of the area.  After four years in the Marine Corps, he pursued a career as a chef and is currently in the transition stage to becoming a full time massage therapist.  After becoming certified in Swedish Massage, Corrective Medical Massage, and Musculoskeletal Assessment techniques, Gregg was employed by Optimal Massage in 2006.  He firmly believes that massage is a path to helping the body heal, and it is a great addition to everyone’s quest for a healthier lifestyle.  There is nothing more satisfying to Gregg than seeing the positive effects that massage can give, no matter how great or small.  Gregg is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is always looking for ways to improve his knowledge and technique.  He looks forward to meeting clients and will do all he can to accommodate their needs.
